Our goal is to breed Standard Poodles that are temperamentally stable and healthy, with eager and loving personalities for companionship.
What are our poodles like? Our standard poodles are family. They live in our home, love to travel, explore the world with us, and bring us joy everyday!
A few years ago I was diagnosed with cancer, Hodgkin's Lymphoma. I was bed bound and very minimally active. Once I started to regain my strength, we decided that we needed some fun in our lives. My family has owned Standard Poodles my whole life and I fully believe they are one of the best breeds you could possibly ask for. When my husband and I saw Willow, we immediately fell in love. We jumped on the opportunity to add her to our small family of 3. She was the perfect addition, helping me get back on my feet and giving me the love and support I needed to feel "normal" again. She was the perfect cancer puppy. We thought long and hard about breeding her, and ultimately decided we wanted to breed more puppies like her, thus starting our Poodle Possie.
Standard Poodles are the second smartest breed of dog. They are non-shedding, loyal, and loving companions. Standard Poodles originated in Germany as hunting and water dogs. The German word "Pudel" meaning puddle, is how they got the "Poodle" name. They would retrieve ducks from the water in hunting. Standards love to please, play, and learn. This makes training very simple. They love rough housing and should have plenty of exercise each day. Standard Poodles are also great lap dogs! They love to curl up and snuggle with their families. Our girls especially, love to cuddle. We believe standard poodles are one of the best emotional support dogs whether they are trained for that job or just a wonderful member of the family.
